Landscape i(s) its Double
Study Day

16th April 2026 10:00-16:00 am ESAM, Caen

What does a landscape perceived through the ear do to our spatial intuitions?

On April 16, 2026, ESAM Caen hosts a study day exploring this question, as part of Virgile Abela’s research and creation residency at the Laboratoire Modulaire. Four speakers — Virgile Abela, Stéphane Marin, Emma Loriaut and Floriane Pochon — will weave together soundscape, augmented listening, aeolian harps, synaesthesia and wild radio to lay the groundwork for a concept as dizzying as it is alive: the ubiquity of landscape.

Phaune Radio sneaks into the programme and unfurls its antennae.
Under the title Landscape in Itself, Among Others, a journey through five listenings — tuning in to what flows between worlds, between the visible and the audible, between night and wind, between a live radio stream and the breaths of a room that doesn’t yet know it is a landscape.

ESAM Auditorium, Caen — 10am to 4pm — Free entry.
